Committees
2007-2008 Committee Descriptions
EXECUTIVE
- Meets Monday before Board Meeting of each month 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
- Officers of Board comprise this committee
- Meets with Committee Chairpersons quarterly
- Serves as Personnel Committee
- Monitors bylaws, agency policies and long range plan implementation
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
- Meets 2nd Monday of every month from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., tours projects on odd months
- Recommends and monitors development strategy including acquisitions and focus areas
- Reviews drawings, plans, etc.
- Monitors development progress
- Makes recommendations regarding sale prices
Housing Sub-Committee
· Development Teams are formed for each tax credit project
· Participates in all phases of project
ASSET MANAGEMENT
- Meets 3rd Monday on odd months 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
- Monitors Property Management Company relationship and activities
- Reviews financial reports for rental property
- Reviews inspections reports for rental property
- Conducts annual site visits of rental property
- Pays particular attention to rental property upkeep on an ongoing basis
LOAN
- Meets 3rd Wednesday of each month 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
- Reviews loan requests and recommends approval/denial
- Monitors loan performance, denials, delinquencies, budgets
- Test loan files and loans for adherence to policies
- Monitors and reviews policies for effectiveness
- Approves emergency loans
NOMINATING
- Meets quarterly in the year
- Nominates partners, committee members and directors to the board annually
- Conducts membership drive activities
- Establishes relationships and contacts in an effort to engage others, particularly residents, in the agency’s activities and programs.
- Coordinates events and activities to orient, maintain contact and keep informed the agency’s stakeholders (ie.- Annual Breakfast, New Member Orientation)
- Identifies opportunities for mutual support
FINANCE
- Meets 3rd Monday on even months at 5:00 p.m.
- Chaired by Treasurer
- Participates in preparation of annual budget
- Monitors agency, program and project budgets
- Serves as Investment Committee
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
- Meets 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7:00 p.m.
- Serves as advisory on the implementation of economic development strategy
- Monitors Youth Entrepreneurship Program
- Recommends partnerships
- Comprises EconomyWorks
YOUTH
- Meets every Thursday at 3:30 pm
- Coordinates youth activities with the community organizer of the agency
FUND DEVELOPMENT
- Attend fundraising committee meetings as determined by committee Chair
- Plans annual and semi-annual fundraising events.
HOC ADVISORY BOARD

Meets quarterly

Reviews the functioning of the HomeOwnership Center

Implements best practice standards for HOC education, couseling and lending.
